About the object

The 40,000 m² site of the former East freight station was acquired by Max Baum Immobilien GmbH in 2001. Here in the “creative campus” Schwedler Carré stands the seven-storey domicile of the Publicis Group. The Publicis Group is one of the largest advertising service providers worldwide; campaigns for Deutsche Bahn, Renault, Maggi or Loreal are designed here. The office building with underground car park was created exactly according to the tenant’s ideas. White-clad exterior walls and wide window fronts fit into the customised architectural concept. The result is modern office space with a conference area, a representative foyer, a cafeteria, and four roof terraces.

Baier works its magic at the Frankfurt Eastside creative location

Large glass fronts provide a powerful and useful supply of daylight. However, buildings and users must be protected from glare, reflections and overheating caused by strong sunlight. Modern sliding shutters provide this sun protection while maintaining a high degree of transparency and visual contact with the outside; an old principle that was also known in traditional Arabic and Indian architecture.

Baier shades Publicis at Schwedler Carré

With Baier, an experienced specialist in sliding shutters was commissioned. The company manufactured, delivered and installed 184 sliding shutters of the Frankfurt model, which impress with their aesthetics and perfection. The movable shutters were given their very own character by the concealed screw connections and the special colour chosen, gold fine structure matt. The sliding shutters, equipped with elliptical slats, are reliably guided with a double U-guide at the top and a comb grille at the bottom.

The grating, optionally made of anodised or powder-coated aluminium or natural stainless steel, is easy to walk on and thus guarantees accessibility. The shutters can be placed according to the position of the sun and your taste, with a maximum of 4 shutters in a row.
The static requirements were high and so Klaus Braxmeier, a creative mind at Baier, designed a customised system. The shutters are equipped with a static chamber and can be invisibly braced with a steel insert as required. “The ingenious system” is used in higher locations and in building corner areas.
