Baier also opens the door for dogs
Baier planned and manufactured so-called “dog house sliding doors” The automatic sliding doors were made to measure in complete in-house production. Equipped with a programme switch, different operating modes can be set by the staff. If the automatic programme is selected, the dogs can trigger the opening of the door by means of their body heat. An infrared motion detector is mounted on the inside and outside, which reacts to small changes in temperature. The dogs should quickly get the hang of when the door opens and closes. If the night programme is selected, the motion detector is switched off and the door remains closed. In addition, the door can be opened permanently in summer or, for example, for cleaning work. The sliding doors operate in so-called “low energy” mode in accordance with the European door standard EN 16005, which means that the drive only works with a low, defined force that is safe for humans and animals. This guarantees safe operation so that none of the four-legged friends come to harm.
What a dog’s life
Sliding doors are considered practical because they save space. The “dog house sliding doors” are made of extruded aluminium profiles and insulating glass. Here at the shelter, they function as an entrance and at the same time as a room divider between the kennel and the exercise area. As the sliding doors are mainly made of glass, they also bring more brightness into the building.
Boarding places are an important source of income for the association. At the Karlsruhe animal shelter, the needs of the “residents” are taken into account. The fact that the four-legged friends can choose their own place of residence by means of the Baier sliding doors should please owners and make the decision to give their pet away for the duration of a holiday easier.
