Town Hall at the Market Achern

About the object

A town hall sees itself as a “modern public service company”, as the first point of contact for citizens of towns and communities. In the large district town of Achern, at the foot of the Hornisgrinde, there has been a lot of investment in the former town hall. Here, in the modernised “Rathaus Am Markt”, there is a lot of public traffic – on the ground floor there is the new citizens’ service with tourist information, on the upper floor the citizens’ hall and the media library with continuous opening hours.
An entrance was needed that would allow several people to enter the public building at the same time.

Comfort and safety writ large

In addition to a good “first impression” of the visitor, the revolving door with an inner diameter of 3.60 m and a clear passage height of 2.30 m made by Baier ensures reliable and safe operation, especially with high foot traffic.

Visitors and employees alike enjoy the draught-free entrance to the multifunctional citizen service area with counter and waiting zone. The high insulation effect against draughts, weather and noise ensures effective separation of the indoor and outdoor climate, thus contributing to energy savings. Visually excellently integrated into the façade, a revolving door combines all high demands on comfort, safety and design.

Baier automatic door for barrier-free access

The town hall as a public building has to fulfil an exemplary function, so the barrier-free access was solved via a side entrance. Here, too, Baier opens the door. People with handicaps could now easily move around the citizen-friendly town hall thanks to a lift at the side entrance and an automatic door.

Doors open houses and rooms, in this case comfortably and efficiently with automatic doors from Baier.
