Everything new – Baier designs the butcher’s shop façade
“Modernise the shop and bring the technology up to date,” is how the master butcher describes the requirement for the extensive remodelling. The team of architects and all the commissioned “renovators” went to work with a lot of passion on the redesign of the new branch. The Baier company, in cooperation with the Kramer-Ladenbau company, also contributed to the successful renovation with various façade works. Simple, functional and above all modern – these were the guidelines for the renovation of the new Doll shop. The building was given a completely new outer skin – the modern façade was clad with durable and extremely resilient Trespa® laminate panels. It took just two months from planning to completion.
Modern façade design with HPL panels
The Baier installation team attached the complete substructure to the building as an “invisible” fastening system for the impact-resistant Trespa® panels. Trespa panels, so-called HPL panels, consist of several layers of strongly compressed paper that are soaked in resin. They are suitable for façade design in both old and new buildings. The material is weather and moisture resistant and extremely flexible. Trespa® laminate panels are particularly suitable for cladding large and straight surfaces when the focus is on a homogeneous and even surface. For individual designs, Trespa® panels in different colours can be combined with each other and installed in offsets. Installed by Baier here at Dolls in Viernheim, this durable and extremely resilient façade cladding gives the building a smooth and uniform surface. Now the butcher’s shop shines in new splendour with a modern aura.

Hygienic door openings with automatic door and swing door
A 1-leaf automatic door ensures a smooth connection between production and sales. No switch needs to be touched to open the door. A simple hand movement in front of a sensor enables an absolutely hygienic opening. The customised single-leaf swing door “Made by Baier” is just as hygienic to open. Practical when the fully loaded staff has to bring the fresh goods from the back of the butcher’s shop into the sales area. The swing door has no stop, can therefore swing freely to both sides and closes independently and reliably.
Indulgence redefined: Baier redesigns the outside and the inside
The interior of the butcher’s shop was to be just as modern as the exterior. Here, too, the Baier team was able to present itself as masters of their trade. Part of the façade is a 2-leaf automatic door in the entrance area and a so-called “shop window”. Doll’s Metzgerei has always stood for the best quality and freshness in all aspects of meat and sausage products, and that is something to be proud of. The automatic door and window, consisting of extruded, thermally insulated aluminium profiles, were colour-matched to the Trespa® panels of the façade and powder-coated deep black. The “shop window” was covered in the lower area with sheet glass panels, so that only the interesting part in the counter area is visible. In order to protect the meat and sausage products from the sun’s ultraviolet rays, a special glass was used in the upper area of the tilt and turn window, which can also be shaded from the inside with a roller blind in case of particularly strong sunlight.

“Dolles” Vesper – craftsmen were well looked after
Even during the renovation phase, business continued, with the staff making do with a sales trolley. This made it possible to keep the regular customers. With the renovation and the expanded range of daily lunch menus, the Doll butcher’s shop should also gain new customers. Many a Baier employee will certainly remember the good catering during the renovation phase and will return to one of the Doll butcher’s branches when the opportunity arises.
