Goldäcker Sportpark: Ticket sales and stadium catering with space-saving pass-throughs
Actually, the Goldäcker Sportpark in Leinfelden-Echterdingen had already been fundamentally renovated more than ten years ago. But it soon became clear that the changing rooms were not enough and the decision was made to build another functional building. Depending on the type and size of a sports field facility, such buildings are ideal for providing changing rooms and showers for athletes, sportswomen, coaches, referees or groundsmen. In Leinfelden-Echterdingen, it was decided to also accommodate ticket sales and catering in the building.
In order to realise the building, which cost around 1.19 million euros, close cooperation was agreed between the city, the head of the Office for Schools, Youth and Clubs and voluntary helpers. Among others, the architectural office Mesch-Fehrle from Aichtal, PS-Planung from Stuttgart and Wagner Glas und Metallbau as Albstadt were involved in the planning and implementation. Baier was also able to contribute to the realisation of the building by producing modern sales counters with vertical sliding windows, fixed window elements and stainless steel counters. In close coordination with Wagner Glas und Metallbau, the two pass-throughs were realised in a symmetrical look at two corners of the building. While Baier manufactured the customised modules, Wagner assembled them on site – a perfect interplay.
Vertical sliding window on the north-east side enables efficient ticket sales
The single-storey functional building with flat roof and wooden façade is located directly at the entrance to the sports facility – a perfect place for ticket sales, which was realised as a pass-through with fixed glazing and sliding windows. Fixed glazing with an external dimension of 1640 x 1750 mm was installed on the northern side of the car park; on the eastern side, a three-part element was chosen, consisting of a fixed side element, a fixed skylight and a sliding sash that can be opened and closed vertically as required.
The sales window itself is comparatively large, measuring 2240 x 1750 mm, so that the room behind it is sufficiently supplied with daylight and an open and communicative ambience is created. A projecting window sash disturbs neither customer nor salesperson here. Along the window front, a 460 mm wide stainless steel counter, which can be used inside and outside, forms an architecturally attractive end to the pass-through.

Two pass-throughs offer maximum flexibility on the south-east side
The counterpart to ticket sales is located just a few metres away on the opposite side of the building. In front of a new kitchen, two space-saving vertical sliding windows were installed across the corner as pass-throughs. Depending on the operation, one or two sales counters can be open.
The sliding sashes are operated from the inside via handy handles. The window remains in any desired position so that one can decide individually on the depth of opening, depending on the weather. Insulating glass on all window fronts ensures that it stays pleasantly warm in winter and cool in summer. And when play is over, vandalism doesn’t stand a chance: the windows are securely locked with PZ locks. In future, external venetian blinds for sun and privacy protection will be installed on a rail fastening.
Modern stainless steel counter for indoors and outdoors
Baier also manufactured the custom-made stainless steel counters in front of both sales counters. Stainless steel is low-maintenance, easy to maintain and simple to clean. The robust stainless steel counters can be used both indoors and outdoors.
While they can be used outdoors to store food, drinks or bags, the counters are planned deeper indoors and can be used as a worktop or storage space.

Customised solutions from Baier – quality and on schedule
Because customised solutions require precision when planning and implementing them, Glas- und Metallbau Wagner has relied on Baier’s expertise. Because as a window expert, Baier loves the customer-specific challenge and knows exactly what is important.
However, this in no way means compromising on the quality of the work and on-time delivery. Those involved in the construction project at the Goldäcker sports complex were also convinced by Baier here. May we also advise you? Then get in touch with us right away.
