Baier was able to win over a future-oriented company

After individual, professional planning and production, 4 sliding shutter systems with 3 leaves each were delivered. The systems were designed with 2 fixed shutters and 1 electrically movable shutter. The individual shutters consist of an aluminium frame to which an expanded metal is attached; the façade cladding covers the mechanics and drives.

Flexibility in architectural language with expanded metal

Expanded metal is a material with openings in its surface. Staggered cuts with simultaneous stretching deformation create an expanded metal mesh with considerable strength and surface stability. With the modern-looking building material expanded metal, an economical and aesthetic façade design can be achieved. Durable, filigree and yet stable, transparent constructions with expanded metal fulfil the static requirements.

Movable sun protection with expanded metal

Sliding shutters made of expanded metal have a three-dimensional look, inspire with different incidence of light and guarantee perfect privacy and sun protection. When the metal is stretched, many bonnets are created, each one functioning like a sun protection slat. Thus, the arrangement of the meshes and bonnets in the expanded metal reduces solar radiation. Similarly, the special meshing ensures good rear ventilation and excellent weather protection.

The Baier company in its element – sliding shutters with battery buffering for use in an escape and rescue route

Baier stands for maximum ease of use, reliability and safety. A particular challenge was that the sliding shutters were installed in front of an escape and rescue route. The sliding shutters must therefore open reliably even in the event of a power failure or a house alarm. No problem for the electronics specialists from Baier! By means of a battery buffer that also reliably detects a power failure and can process alarm contacts, the sliding shutter opens electrically, even in the worst case. Of course, the shutter can still be opened manually! It is precisely with such special requirements that Baier’s many years of experience and know-how become apparent: Baier’s own development department for control and electronics also enables customised solutions down to the last detail.

Special sliding shutter solution in the area of escape and rescue routes

The use of sliding shutters in the area of escape and rescue routes is generally critical, as the sliding shutters may be positioned in front of the window or door and block the direct escape route. Here, these special solutions with battery buffering and a sophisticated concept are required, which must be coordinated with all parties involved. In this way, a good solution can be found in individual cases, also for escape and rescue routes, and at the same time an aesthetic, elegant solution with sliding shutters cannot be dispensed with.
