Resistance class

Resistance class

The resistance class (RC) describes the burglary resistance, i.e. how long a window or French door can withstand an attempted burglary. The European standard DIN EN 1627 divides windows and doors into 6 different resistance classes with regard to their burglary resistance. The higher the resistance class, the more resistant a component is against a potential burglary. In private residential construction, a resistance class of at least RC 2 is recommended.
