Sliding shutters made of HPL panels – chic design and long service life<\/h2>\n

HPL is the abbreviation of the English term “High Pressure Laminate”. To put it simply, paper webs are pressed together by means of an adhesive (different resins) under high pressure and heat. The result is a panel material that is very hard-wearing, stable and above all extremely weather-resistant.<\/p>\n

For example, panels with a wood look can be produced that look like a wooden panel but do not have the disadvantages of wood in terms of stability and weather resistance.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, it is possible to “press” a 3-dimensional haptic in an additional step, so that even a near-natural surface structure can be reproduced. It then not only looks as if the panel were made of stone, for example, but it also feels like it and creates natural reflections, shadows and reflections.

The panel material can be visibly attached to a supporting metal frame from the front using dyed rivets, as shown in the example here. Alternatively, there are systems for concealed mounting using so-called undercut anchors or adhesive systems. Also available are systems in which a retaining profile engages in a groove milled around the side.<\/p>\n

With any type of fastening, it should be noted that the panel material usually has a different expansion behaviour than the substructure. Since the shutter of sliding shutters is not firmly anchored to the substructure, fixed and floating bearings must be used to ensure that the material can work on the frame.
