Sliding windows that can be opened to a height of 3.50 m and allow a total view at a height of 7 m. At dizzying heights, the challenges faced by Baier GmbH had to be overcome: “We not only manufactured the elements but also supported the assembly on site and commissioned the windows,” says Klaus Braxmeier, the project manager at Baier. To have been involved in such a project naturally makes all those involved proud. It’s good when it also works safely and is implemented cleanly. Transport, weight and height – Baier makes it possible<\/h2>\n

The approx. 15 m wide window front, divided into 5 large windows and 2 small windows at the sides, clearly enhances an object of this class: Each of the large individual windows is 3 m wide with a sash height of 3.5 m. This means that the total height of the window front is 7 m. The sash weight is approx. 500 kg. Glazed on site<\/h2>\n

The supports (steel reinforcement profiles) between the individual elements serve as static stiffening against wind pressure. The deflection of the roof is absorbed by a sliding or floating bearing so that there is no compression of the elements.
\nThe individual parts of the glass front, which were manufactured in Germany (Renchen-Ulm), were transported to their destination in Istanbul on a truck in a “matching” wooden crate. The glazing was done on site. With a building height of approx. 100 m, a huge truck-mounted crane was needed to finally transport the large individual parts to their place on the roof of the building.<\/p>\n
