Material mix: clinker meets metal<\/h2>\n

The solid clinker brick building radiates calm and solidity and opens up to the surroundings with continuous bands of windows. The street-facing fa\u00e7ade is equipped with green, space-saving folding sliding shutters by Baier, which contribute to the varied appearance.<\/p>\n

Fa\u00e7ade cladding made of metal elements in various shades of green<\/h2>\n

The folding shutters are flanked by metal sheets in different shades of green, which are positioned in the same place on each storey. These fixed elements ensure that interior walls that open onto a window opening can be gallantly concealed. Whether open or closed: In both versions, the sliding shutters emphasise the stringent design of the fa\u00e7ade and become a design-defining and colour-defining element.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][\/vc_section][vc_section][vc_row equal_height=”yes” content_placement=”middle”][vc_column width=”5\/12″][vc_column_text]\n

Bright staircase element ensures communicative togetherness<\/h2>\n

The building has five floors with two flats per floor. The administration area of the housing project is located on the ground floor and is designed as a central contact point. On the fourth floor, there is also a handicapped-accessible flat that can be reached via the building’s own lift. This is concealed behind the staircase element with its filigree post-and-beam fa\u00e7ade, which was manufactured and also installed by Baier. The same applies to the entrance door of the building on the ground floor. This is integrated as an insert element in the mullion-transom fa\u00e7ade and finished in dark green metal to match the rest of the fa\u00e7ade elements.<\/p>\n

Fall protection made of filigree expanded metal<\/h2>\n

Since the top storey has a fall height of over 12 m, an additional fall protection made of expanded metal was installed in front of the parapet. Heterogeneity visible on the fa\u00e7ade<\/h2>\n

The openings in the fa\u00e7ade are framed with a flat aluminium profile as a separation from the clinker fa\u00e7ade. Made of 10mm thick aluminium, the frames were then colourlessly anodised in E6\/EV1. The narrow and slightly protruding visible edges create an interesting shadow play on the fa\u00e7ade, which is made even more exciting by the partial openings of the sliding shutters. This changes individually depending on the occupants’ use and thus ensures a heterogeneous appearance.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][\/vc_section][vc_section][vc_row equal_height=”yes” content_placement=”middle”][vc_column width=”5\/12″][vc_column_text]\n

Proven system is individually controlled<\/h2>\n

Depending on the time of day, the position of the sun or the weather, the residents can decide for themselves and manually control how much daylight should enter their flats. For this purpose, the total of 38 double-leaf sliding-folding shutters from Baier can be folded up manually at a 90\u00b0 angle to the fa\u00e7ade. The hardware and the floor guide keep the folding shutters on track and protect them from wind, sun and even prying eyes when closed. In the Hanover project, the architects opted for the Standard 30 system in various shades of green. This is particularly suitable for smaller sliding-folding systems in project and residential construction that are not automated or are only automated in the V position. Suitable panelling for every need<\/h2>\n

What all systems have in common is the possibility of fulfilling almost any design wish thanks to the flexible infill panels and design options. Whether made of wood, aluminium, with movable or adjustable slats, Baier even offers some models for do-it-yourself construction. In the Hanover residential project, sliding shutters with green metal coverings were installed. These are particularly dimensionally stable, easy to maintain and durable. The regular slits in the planking ensure that the residents are protected from external influences, but that the interior of the room is not completely dark.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][\/vc_section][vc_section][vc_row equal_height=”yes” content_placement=”middle”][vc_column width=”5\/12″][vc_column_text]\n

Integrative from the outside and the inside<\/h2>\n

As integrative as the fa\u00e7ade, as diverse is the resident population. The project is primarily aimed at families with many children and offers them temporary accommodation. Responding to circumstances, influences and situations is the guiding principle of both the facility and the fa\u00e7ade design. As an interface between the inside and the outside, the fa\u00e7ade thus not only takes on a design function, but also ensures a better building climate due to its manual operability, both in terms of the weather and the seasons.<\/p>\n
