Tradition and innovation from a single source: modernised salesroom and caf\u00e9 for Bakery Dick<\/h2>\n

The bakery Dick, founded in 1965, relies on the traditional craft of baking. In the bakery, breads have been baked the old-fashioned way for generations – honestly, transparently and without any frippery, as can be read on the company’s own website. This is also felt by their customers, who can experience the entrepreneurial spirit of the business in the ambience of the sales rooms after the extensive renovation. They are open, transparent and close to the customer. Wide, floor-to-ceiling window fronts and automatic sliding doors made of powder-coated aluminium open up the shop area and caf\u00e9 visually, flooding the sales rooms with daylight and creating an inviting aura. The illuminated glass showcase displays the baked goods that whet the appetite for indulgence.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][\/vc_section][vc_section][vc_row equal_height=”yes” content_placement=”middle”][vc_column width=”5\/12″][vc_column_text]\n

Metal construction interpreted in a modern way – from shop windows to sliding doors to glass display cases.<\/h2>\n

Robust outer walls, small wooden windows and a dark salesroom characterised the ambience of the Bakery Dick before the renovation. At the owner’s request, this was to change, as they wanted a contemporary and modern appearance for the traditional business. Baier produced the shop window element with automatic door, the floor-to-ceiling fixed glazing, tilt and turn windows and a manual sliding door to the bakery. The modern glass showcase was also made by Baier – all made to measure, of course.<\/p>\n

To make the fa\u00e7ade more open to the street side, the old aluminium elements and wooden windows were first dismantled, fa\u00e7ade openings enlarged and replaced by custom-made aluminium windows. Especially for such large glass fronts, the light metal aluminium has proven itself, which can handle even large glass panes with ease. Another advantage: aluminium is weather-resistant, has a high level of corrosion protection, does not warp and is easy to clean. In order to make the interiors and fa\u00e7ade look like one, the window fronts and doors were powder-coated in the anthracite grey RAL7016 colour.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″ offset=”vc_col-lg-offset-1″][vc_single_image image=”12560″ img_size=”full”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][\/vc_section][vc_section][vc_row equal_height=”yes” content_placement=”middle”][vc_column width=”5\/12″][vc_single_image image=”12554″ img_size=”full”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″ offset=”vc_col-lg-offset-1″][vc_column_text]\n

Glass connects outside and inside<\/h2>\n

The new fa\u00e7ade and interior consist of a mix of different components for which Baier is responsible and contribute to a new sense of space:<\/p>\n

The entrance<\/h3>\n

Customers enter the sales rooms of the bakery via a centrally located light metal automatic door with two symmetrical, glazed elements. This is practical for both customers and staff. People with mobility impairments can enter the sales area and the caf\u00e9 barrier-free. With the help of innovative sensors and electric motors, the sliding elements open and close and remain in the open position behind two fixed glazed elements. This also contributes to energy efficiency, because the automatic control keeps heat out in summer and cold in winter.<\/p>\n

Particularly successful: A second, manual entrance door on the left serves as a possible escape door. It can also be used to create specific routes between the entrance and exit in the form of a “built-in street” – for example in the case of possible corona restrictions.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][\/vc_section][vc_section][vc_row equal_height=”yes” content_placement=”middle”][vc_column width=”5\/12″][vc_column_text]\n

The salesroom<\/h3>\n

The attractive display of the product range is becoming increasingly important. At the bakery Dick today, a wide window without glazing bars provides customers with a direct view of the bakery’s sales counter, which was implemented in the form of a modern glass display case by Baier. This way, customers only have to enter the bakery when the range of products appeals to them and they want to buy something. However, the open design also invites new customers to make a first purchase when passing by by chance. For better visibility, the glass display case itself is illuminated – numerous ceiling spotlights support the culinary presentation of the baked goods.<\/p>\n

The caf\u00e9<\/h3>\n

The automatic sliding door also leads to the bakery-caf\u00e9 on the right side of the building. In addition to cosy seating groups inside, the most striking feature is the fixed glazed, floor-to-ceiling fa\u00e7ade facing the street in a post-and-beam construction. It opens the caf\u00e9 to the street side; at a wooden counter you can enjoy a coffee on stools directly at the window. Side window elements that can be turned and tilted provide fresh air; the caf\u00e9 is separated from the salesroom by a glazed door so that there is no disturbance to the peace.<\/p>\n

The glass display case<\/h3>\n

The new glass display case, which was custom-made by Baier after a precise briefing, ensures an appealing presentation of the baked goods. Here, the goods are presented, prepared and packed in a way that is visible to customers – and all this in strict compliance with hygienic requirements. Well-lit, it also benefits from a bright ambience in the morning or early evening.<\/p>\n

The bakery<\/h3>\n

Baier also realised another sliding door between the sales room and the bakery. Because there is not as much through traffic here, it was made in a manual version.
