These are generally referred to as just roller shutters, as they are more common.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][\/vc_section][vc_section][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]In contrast to vertical shutters, roof window rolling shutters have special features that differ in their technical design.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A roof window opens outwards, i.e. into the working area of the roof window roller shutter.\u00a0A vertical roller shutter is generally mounted in front of a window or door, opening inwards.<\/li>\n<li>With a vertical roller shutter, gravity is used to unroll the curtain, i.e. the roller shutter curtain. This usually is not possible with a roof window roller shutter, as the effect of gravity cannot be exploited due to the angle of the roof.<\/li>\n<li>Because it is installed on the roof, a roof window roller shutter is more exposed to the weather than a vertical roller shutter. In particular, snow remains on the roller shutter in winter, and freezing water can cause the curtain, i.e. the roller shutter curtain, to freeze.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]Roof window roller shutters are also used outside the roof. Products of this type are generally used above skylight domes or in front of vertical windows or doors.<\/p>\n<p>A roof window roller shutter positively influences some parameters, such as the energy transmittance or the sound insulation of a window behind it.
