Resources are intended to be reused after the first use. The concept was developed in 2002 by Michael Braungart, a German chemist, and the American architect William McDonough.<br \/>\nWhen the Cradle to Cradle Certificate is awarded by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, the products are tested in 5 different categories: material health (safety for humans and nature), recyclability of ingredients and packaging materials, use of renewable energies in production, more responsible Handling water, social fairness along the entire supply chain.<br \/>\nThe overall award results from the sum of all five categories.
